ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW

Rangers are in red hot form at the moment, scoring five goals in back to back wins at Hamilton and at home against Kilmarnock in the cup. They will now hope to follow that up with another comprehensive victory against struggling Dundee. The return of their top striker Alfredo Morelos has been a major boost and he will be hoping to replicate his previous performance when he netted four goals in the drubbing of Kilmarnock. It’s a stiff competition in the front as Jermane Defoe who has done well recently will also be laying claim of a starting berth. Rangers are second with eight points behind league leaders Celtic but are not giving up on their ambition of the prestigious league trophy.

Dundee have improved at least a little bit since the appointment of new Boss Jim McIntyre as they continue the fight for survival, but are still just four points above rock bottom St. Mirren. Dundee shipped in as many as four goals in the home defeat to Hibernian at the weekend. After losing to Queen of the South in their Scottish Cup replay at the end of January, Dundee did lose their next three games, drawing with Hamilton and Kilmarnock and then defeating Livingston at the Toni Macaroni Arena. However, the Dee were no match for a Hibs side that was able to put four past McIntyre’s men, despite the home side scoring on two occasions.

Rangers continue their superb scoring form here against the visitors who has shipped two or more goals in three of last five matches in all competitions and 28 goals in 13 away matches in the league this season.
