December happens to be a very busy period in the world of football. This friday night we have fixtures from all across Europe under our X-ray with the big one in Italy taking the spot light. Read on for more insight.

West Bromwich Albion – Aston Villa

Prior to this clash, West broms home form has been superb. They did draw against Brentford who are lowly placed but that has nothing much on them. The home side have 60% win from their first 10 encounters which also translates to a 4 match unbeaten run. Before this turn in events the home side got away with just a draw from 4 matches.

Villa make this trip on the back of a very huge win last time out against Middlesbrough. The away sides resurgence began at home with a3 wins and 1 draw from 4 games scoring 12 goals in the process. New manager Dean Smith’s side have also defeated potential promotion contenders, the likes of Derby and Middlesbrough.

Away team to win either half

Werder Bremen – Fortuna Dusseldorf

Bremen have had apoor run of form in recent times which has seen them glide down the league table precisely 9th position. Over the weekend former Bremen player Gnabry was on the opposing team’s payroll and was the man to open scoring as Bayern Munich took away all 3points. The home side would see this encounter as a chance to get back the winning vibe.

Dusseldorf on paper do look like the weaker side in this clash, over the weekend they did lose to Mainz despite enjoying a larger possession spell. Mainz did look more purposeful coming forward and it was enough to see them get maximum points.

Both teams head here in not so good form and sure enough would be looking to outclass each other however, Bremen do have history behind them.

Both teams to score/over 2.5 goals

Leganes – Getafe

This game has the characteristics of a derby match with both sides not more than 5miles apart things could get really physical. The away side now guided by former Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino have earned a reputation for their very physical approach in every game. However, the key note here is that they ended an away winless run a with a win scoring 4 times in the process.

Leganes come into this one unbeaten in 6 games, winning 3 and drawing 3. They have also suffered just one defeat at home all season. While the visitors have lost just once in 7 away fixtures whilst drawing 4.
This game sure looks like one with a lot to prove but with both sides recent records they just might end level.

1st half draw

Juventus – Inter Milan

Last time out, the Old lady defeated Fiorentina to stay unbeaten in their impressive run so far. This happens to be their biggest test yet as they welcome Inter Milan.

Juventus do have a champions league fixture on Wednesday but would be more concerned about this clash as they already look assured of qualification to the next round. With 13 wins from 14 games Juventus would like nothing more than to increase the gap.
Inter had a well contested 2-2 draw last time out as they had an encounter with Roma. In the champions league they haven’t been too impressive but have managed draws against the likes of Barcelona.

The visitors have scored in over 80% of their matches so far and Juventus have manged at least 2 goals in over 90% of their games so far. There should be action at both ends but with Juventus carrying the day.

Both teams to score/ over 2.5 goals
