Who will set themselves apart in the race for English Premier League glory

In the last game week before the international break, the lead atop the English Premier League table changed hands a number of times, as the race to glory continues to look tighter than ever.

For the first time ever in the club’s history, Southampton went top of the English Premier League, a few hours of domination that was totally worth it and was a culmination of the team’s 134 years in the league and quite the sight for fans of English football. Their time at the top will be shortlived, however, as Liverpool temporarily went top only to be pegged back in a draw with Manchester City, giving Leicester sole footing in the spotlight after the round of fixtures. With six teams all in the mix to grab the top spot, and promising entertaining and potentially profitable action, the question really is, what is the best betting site? So punters can have the best of both worlds.

As the teams are welcoming players back from the international break, whatever form and confidence the players would have picked up in national colours will be very essential to the league hopes of the six teams currently linked with the premier league’s top spot. Aston Villa has been a nice little surprise this season, with Jack Grealish and ollie Watkins leading a spirited Villa team that is looking to recapture the greatness that made the club a respected name in English football. Sitting in sixth place, the Villains are three points behind leaders Leicester and face Brighton and Hove Albion, while Chelsea will be looking to confirm the squad’s good form before the break, with new signing Ziyech looking like something special. Chelsea is also on 15 points and will be taking on Newcastle.

The Saints face Wolves, without ace Danny Ings, but will still be confident and relishing another opportunity to go top of the table once again, just two points behind the league leaders. Next up at third, is defending champions Liverpool, who ook to have drawn the short straw this season, plagued by injuries and Covid-19 cases. The latest name on the list is Mohammed Salah, who may not be back in time to face Leicester for the right to become league leaders. An early-season injury to the captain, Virgil Van Dijk was already a big blow, and replacement Joe Gomez has joined him in the sickbay, alongside Alexander Arnold. Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham is sandwiched between the two teams and will be looking to take full advantage of any slip up from the Leicester-Liverpool game. Harry Kane and Heung Min Son have been on fire for the Spurs, but Mourinho’s team has been getting productivity from everyone and will be counting on a similar effort against Manchester City. League leaders Leicester will have Liverpool in their way of consolidating their lead at the top but will feel more confident with fewer injury worries
