It’s a super Sunday edition once more and it’s not just in England this time around. We make stops in 4 of Europe’s top leagues, with each one having a really interesting fixture this Sunday. Read on for previews and match predictions.
MONACO – PSG
Psg have now gone 12 matches without a loss winning all games in the process. Since new coach Tuchel took over, his game plan has been about blowing his opponent away with lightening speed style of attack. The visitors have scored at least thrice in 10 of their matches so far this season. And they have done this against seemingly great opponents with teams like Lyon and Saint Etienne being some of their victims. However, their only loss came away from home against Liverpool and they stilled scored twice in that encounter.
The host are having a dreadful season. They sit 19th on the table and are still yet to record a win under new manager Thierry Henry. Monaco has now gone 15 games without a win. Obviously, the introduction of the Arsenal legend as coach hasn’t brought the desired effect. With their inability to score goals they now come up against a team that has conceded just 7 goals all season. It’s looking like one way traffic.
PICK
Away win
AC MILAN – JUVENTUS
The visitors met with a real mid week shocker in the champion’s league against Manchester united. The old lady would be looking to get back at the helm of things by grabbing maximum points here. Their Serie A statistics should be enough boosts going into this game. They have now won 10 out of their opening 11 games.
The rossoneri have clinched top four spot via a 3 game winning run. They have however lost clashes against the top 3 teams and a loss to Juventus would only seem normal. Mid week saw them draw against Real Betis as their injury worries pile up.
PICK
Away win
CELTA VIGO – REAL MADRID
This game might well turn out to be one of the most interesting fixtures so far. Interim manager, Santiago Solari could retain his spot or not depending on the result here. He led his team to a rather convincing 5-0 win away to Viktoria Plzen. It was a real boost coming from their late winner against Valladolid last weekend.
Celta vigo came from 2 goals down to lead 3-2 only to draw the game in full time against Real Betis. Their scoring form is impressive as they have now scored 7 in their last two outings. Following each teams attacking prowess, it should be end to end action.
PICK
Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals
MANCHESTER CITY – MANCHESTER UNITED
The Red Devils had a pretty awesome night in mid week as they surprised the football world with a shocker win over Juventus. While the Citizens demolished Shakthar Donetsk with 6 goals to nil as they dominated proceeding over 90 minutes.
Domestically, Man city are clearly on top of the situation with a run of 11 unbeaten matches, winning ten of those. They are yet to lose in the EPL this season. Their home form is also another cause for worry to any opponent. Having won all 6 games at the Etihad and have scored 24 goals in the process.
Manchester united is slowly but surely getting into the thick of the action as they have shown in recent games. With 3 wins from 4 games and 9 goals to their name, they now sit 4th on the table and would be hoping to climb further. Their main source of concern would be their defense.
PICK
Both teams to score
