Metz got relegated to the second tier last season, but their form so far in this league have shown they might be making quick return back to Ligue 1. The Maroons have played played 12 games and they sit pretty comfortably on top of the league. They’ve won 9, drew one and lost twice. They’ve been a difficult side to play against especially at home where they won 5 of the 7 games from all competitions. The host could only managed a goal-less draw at Lorient last week, they will target nothing but the three points here and further increase their lead at the top.
Auxerre are a decent side but they’ve been dropping balls lately and if they continue with this kind of form, they will struggle to maintain their Ligue 2 status this season. In the last five rounds, the visitors have picked up just four points and they are now just two points behind the nearest safe spot. They haven’t been too good in the back, while Pablo Correa needs to work with his lads in order to improve their finishing.
