Welcome To S L Predict And Win Contest.
South American giants Brazil will be looking to claim their 10th successive victory in World Cup Qualifying when they travel to Barranquilla to face Colombia on Sunday.
Colombia and Brazil will lock horns in one of the most exciting games of the 5th round in the South American World Cup qualifications on Sunday evening in Baranquilla.
The visitors are in a much better position with a perfect run of eight wins in eight opening qualifiers.
Tite’s men have thus translated a phenomenal spell of form from the previous World Cup qualifying term when they finished the campaign ten points clear off the second-placed Uruguay.
The Colombians finished fourth on the occasion. They will, however, have a mountain to climb to secure another top-four finish and a place at the 2022 World Cup given the fact they’ve won just three of nine matches so far in the campaign.
The lack of defensive meticulousness is Colombia’s main problem in this term. They just can’t seem to defend well under Reinaldo Rueda (who took charge in January this year).
This is why, after all, each of the last five matches Colombia played (including the last two games at Copa America) saw goals scored at both ends.
It will be very interesting to see whether the hosts will continue such a trend here against Brazil who have only allowed two goals in the opening eight games.
Colombia manager Reinaldo Rueda has named a strong squad. Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina, Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez, Everton centre-back Yerry Mina, Juventus midfielder Juan Cuadrado and Rayo Vallecano striker Radamel Falcao have been included.
There could be potential debuts for Atletico Nacional duo of Aldair Quintana and Yerson Candelo. Gremio striker Miguel Borja is injured and not available.
Meanwhile, Brazil have included Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva, Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao and the Paris Saint-Germain duo of Marquinhos and Neymar in the squad.
There could be a potential debut for Basel striker Arthur Cabral. Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is not available due to an injury.
