Europe – Champions League

Manchester United – PSG

The resurgence at Old Trafford since Jose Moiurinho left the job and Ole Gunner Solskjaer took over has been impressive. So far, this will prove to be the Norwegians biggest test yet. They host French league champions PSG in the knockout stages of the Champions League and a fairly positive result in their own backyard could enhance their chances of making it to the next round.
Since Solskjaer took over the Red Devils are yet to lose a game winning 10 games and drawing once against Burnley. They have now made it into the top 4 and are definitely looking to stay right there.

The visitors are very much in control at the top of the Ligue 1 but have had difficulties in recent weeks. They lost for the 1st time this season away at Lyon and were held down till extra time in the Coupe de France by underdogs villefranche. For PSG it’s even looking worse now as Edison Cavani picked up an injury which will see him join Neymar on the sidelines. This would definitely have an effect on Psg’s attacking threat.

They still have the French youngster Kylian Mbappe and the rest of the team who won’t be easy push overs. The French side scored an awesome total of 26 goals in 6 matches during the group stages.

Over 0.5 goals in 1st half

Roma – FC Porto

Roma were the team to watch in last season ‘s edition of the champions league. They had some very interesting results which saw them all the way to the semi finals where they lost narrowly to Liverpool. The total aggregate for their exit was 7-6 as they tried to stage another comeback similar to the one against Barcelona. Their away and home forms have been outstanding
Despite having a poor run in the group stages where they won just 3 of 6 of their matches, losing to Real Madrid twice. During the knockout stage last time out, they came alive as they were able to get some results let’s hope they repeat the feat.

FC Porto, are a Portuguese side that should not be underrated. They are one of the 5 teams to stay unbeaten through the group stages. So far Porto have won 5 of the their 6 group stage matches scoring 15 times in the process. Galatasaray and Lokomotiv Moscow were amongst the teams they defeated away from home.
Their backline seems to be a little shaky as a result they were able to manage only one clean sheet away from home.

Europe – Europa league

Fenerbache – Zenit St Petersburg

The group stage saw an inconsistent display from the Turkish host’s. However, they did what was needed to see them make it to the next round . They would clearly need to make some improvements if they have to get the better if them is Zenit side after two legs. At hone, the home side have been a real force to reckon with although their trips haven’t been so impressive. Against Anderlecht they made quite an easy win and had to settle for a draw against a rock hard Dinamo Zagreb side.

Unlike their host, sane can’t be said about Zenith away matches as they clearly struggled during the group stages. They were unable to acquire 3 points on any of their 3 away fixtures in group C. Managing 2 draws and a loss in their final group game. Looking at all these it’s difficult to see anything other than a home win.
