England – Carabao Cup

Burton Albion – Manchester City

The league one outfit host the reigning premier league champions on Wednesday night after losing the 1st leg of this Carabao cup tie by a devastating 9 goals. Top on their agenda would be restoring some of their pride in this second leg meeting. It was quite expected that Burton would have to chase shadows for most of the game but they never envisioned being humiliated by that score line.

The current carabao cup winners were relentless and showed their visitors no mercy in the first leg. The current advantage on goal afford Pep the opportunity to rest majority of his starters. This impending squad rotation would have a huge effect on City free flowing football.
That being said Burton Albion are unbeaten in 4 of their last 6 home league matches, and while we aren’t expecting much from them against City the least the can do their fans at the Pirelli stadium is to put up and good fight and end the game with a reasonable score line after that very poor first leg encounter.

Their visitor’s on the other hand are aiming to win their 7th consecutive game since the start of the new year. They have now scored 27 goals against as much as 6 teams, 16 of those goals were scored against lower league clubs in cup matches. With the way the first leg went down we expect a real fight from the home side however City should still be able to carry the day.

France – Coupe de France

Paris Saint-Germain – Rc Strasbourg

The visitors are in one hell of an impressive form at the moment and are aiming to make it 7 wins from seven games. Thierry laurey’s has his side coming up against the best team in France and we are expecting fireworks. Just this past weekend, the visitors did thrash Monaco 5-1 which made it their 6th win in a row. Even though the mighty PSG are struggling to keep such fine record themselves, they could still bring that of Strasbourg to a halt.

Strasbourg looked unstoppable as they dispatched a Monaco side are have been weak all season, it’s also worth mentioning that they have defeated much better teams with the likes of Nice and Lyon amongst their victims. Their attacking line has been delivering while the team has been playing some pretty impressive pressing game. They have 13 goals from 6 matches and have conceded 4, with 5 of those wins coming in away fixtures they definitely would be riding high on confidence.

A few weeks ago PSG lost their very 1st domestic league game at home this season to Guingamp as the visitors punished them with 2 late penalties. And just last weekend they got their pound of flesh as they dismantled Guingamp in a league game with 9 goals. This is the same momentum they would be hoping to carry on into this fixture. The home side have been a lil sketchy with 24 goals in 8 appearances but if we are to go by the last result, they definitely made their point.

This fixture in recent years has been an intriguing one with both sides scoring in 3 of the last 5 encounters while also recording over 2.5 goals in the last four.
