England – Premier league

West ham – Arsenal

Both sides were involved in the FA Cup 3rd Round ties and were successful though the wins didn’t come easy. The Hammers now return to the EPL with hopes of breking into the upper sector of the pl table while their visitors would try to put pressure on Chelsea as they gun for a top 4 spot.

West ham had a very bumpy ride at the start of the season and they look to be riding high at the moment. Their summer pricings look to have finally found a rhythm and the results are obvious getting better. The major issue with the team now is their unending injury list however they have lost just twice in their last 8 matches.

Arsenal do have their eyes on champions league qualification this season and at the moment they are 3 point behind Chelsea. The gunners did look like an unstoppable team in October as they won 7 consecutive matches ever since its been an unpredictable season. Emery’s side is yet to keep a clean sheet away from home and with West ham’s current form we should see goals in this one.

Both teams to score

Leicester – Southampton

The foxes lost their FA Cup tie away to Newport and they would be looking to get right back on winning ways to secure a European qualification spot. They are in 7th place after that win over Everton on New year’s day and Manchester United are above them with 7points in between.

Southampton head into this game on the back of a 3 match winless streak, their FA Cup tie ended in a 2-2 draw against Derby County. They are in a very difficult place at the moment as they sit in 18th place with just 2points from the safety belt.

In recent matches the foxes have been really unpredictable and really impressive. They did defeat Man City and Chelsea on the bounce only to lose to Cardiff next and then defeat Everton after which they lost their FA Cup tie against a division 2 side.

Anybody to win and under 3.5 goals

Newcastle – Chelsea

The blues were on the losing end of a controversial VAR decision as it turned out to be the only goal in their first leg tie against Tottenham in the carabao Cup semi final. Right now they have their attention on the EPL as the look to stake a claim fr a top 4 finish. They are 3points adrift of Arsenal and another 4 points away from Spurs in 3rd place.

The away side haven’t scored in their last 2 encounters and have also scored just 6 goals in their last 6 previous encounters. However they have also let little slip past them at the back as they have conceded just once in their last 5 home matches.

For Newcastle this balance in the Blues defense would be highly disheartening as they are the second worst attacking side in the league. They have scored 15 goals in 21 games and have scored just once in their last 4 games.

Home win or under 2.5 goals
