Match preview

We take a trip to vicarage road this weekend as Watford host Bournemouth for one of the interesting fixtures this weekend. The host will be hoping to get back on winning ways even as they face an in-form Bournemouth. Read on for more insight into this game as the English premier league takes centre stage this weekend

This season started in a fairytale way for Watford as they beat Brighton, crystal palace, Burnley and most interestingly, Tottenham. These wins saw them maintain a perfect premier league record going into the international break.

Fast forward to the end of September, after the international break things took a slight turn in the negative direction. In their last three matches, they have lost two and managed a draw. Arsenal and Manchester United made sure they drop points by defeating them, and most recently they couldn’t get past Fulham.

Nevertheless, this Watford side has looked really impressive under Javi Garcia. They have achieved quite a decent start, losing just two of their opening seven premier league matches. They have also scored 11 goals in the process, and this stats could apply real value to the betting market.

On the other hand, the Hornets are also another team raising eyebrows at the moment. Bournemouth comes into this match on the back of a 2-1 win over crystal palace on Monday night. Similar to Watford, they have lost just two of their opening seven matches in the EPL whilst winning four.

The visitors just like the host have had a mouthwatering season in terms of goals. They have scored 12 goals in seven games whilst conceding the same number, unfortunately. Five of their seven league games have seen at least three goals scored. With the only exceptions being a win over Cardiff and a loss at Stamford bridge both games ended 2 nil.

Goal Market

In terms of average goals scored, Bournemouth have seen 3.42 match goals per game so far this season. Watford has seen four of their premier league games end with at least three goals. Going back in time, this fixture will be nothing short of entertaining. With both teams looking really good so far this season they should both get on the score sheet.

Key stats

• Five of the last six meetings between these sides have ended as draws.
• Three of their last four matches have ended in a 2-2 draw. The last two meetings at vicarage road have both ended with a 2-2 scoreline.
