Monterrey welcome Queretaro to the Tecnologica Stadium earlier tomorrow morning knowing well that a victory will see them book a place in the Mexico Cup semifinal.
The hosts couldn’t do much than to surrender to a 2-1 defeat at Cruz Azul on Saturday. They’ve managed to celebrate just twice in the last five occasions. In the Mexican top division, they are sitting on the 6th spot and despite their variable performances, Monterrey are on a good track of snatching their place in the playoffs. Rogelio Funes Mori and the lads have been fairly productive so far, while their defense should have been a bit tighter. Queretaro themselve have been in a slight results crisis lately as they failed to book a win in the last four matches. However, they are still in the game for the top eight and the final title battles, but the competition around them is fierce. Rafel Puente’s side needs to improve their finishing as the visitors have been producing a goal per match in average, while their defence wasn’t able to keep the clean sheet too many times. Queretare are not known for their good away outings and they’ve failed to record a with just one victory in the last four attempt.
