UEFA Nations League
Serbia vs Romania

ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW
Serbia managed to seal the three points at the start of the UEFA Nations League campaign in Lithuania. It was the former Southampton creator (currently Ajax’s attacking midfielder) Dusan Tadic who made the difference converting from the spot seven minutes before the break to secure a victory for Mladen Krstajic’s side.
Romania winning streaks came to an end on Friday as they couldn’t make it five wins on the bounce held to a goalless draw by Montenegro. Cosmin Contra sent the 4-2-3-1 formation with Claudie Keseru as the line striker on the pitch, but it saw the Romanians make just three attempts on target against a weakened Montenegro side.
Serbia Coach Krstajic has reasons to be satisfied with his troops’ display against Lithuania on the opening day of the competition despite failing to convert their numerous chances into goals. Tadic has the opportunity to make it 2 missing the second penalty he had in the game and they were also denied by the wood work on 4 occasions.
- Serbia have won both home and away fixtures against the Romanians scoring 8 goals in the process.
It obvious the quality is on Serbia’s side, we’ve seen them overcome the visitors pretty easily when they last met and it’s hard to see any different scenario here.
