England Championship

Middlebrough vs Burton Albion

Pick: Middlesbrough win

Odd: 1.50

ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW

Middlesbrough will be looking to make it 2 consecutive wins when they welcome struggilng Burton to the Riverside stadium tonight. Ryan Gestede scored the only goal as they defeated sheffield united by 1 nil last time.

Middlesbrough deservedly lost on the opening day of the season to Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 after a Leo Bonatini handed the hosts all three points.

An excellent defence provided the foundation for Middlesbrough’s promotion two seasons ago and they look pretty solid in that regard again, with much of the same personnel. Even in the Premier League, they were rarely completely overrun at the back and you have to wonder how a limited Burton attack is going to cause many problems.

Burton Albion haven’t been in the greatest of form and they were defeated 1-0 at home to Cardiff City on the opening day and then scraped past Oldham of the league below by the skin of their teeth 3-2 in the League Cup. An Abel Hernandez hat trick compounded their misery however as they lost 4-1 to Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday.

In previous meetings between the sides they have one match apiece whilst the last meeting coming in 2015 where Middlesbrough were 2-1 victors in the League Cup and this will be the first clash between the two at the Riverside with the hosts touted as huge favourites.

This should honestly be a one-way street from the very first whistle as we can easily see Middlesbrough claiming a comfortable victory in front of their fans on tonight
