Reigning European champion Portugal had a bad start to their world cup qualification when they were condemned to 2-0 defeat in Switzerland, but since then, they’ve bounce back with style. Despite the Portuguese instant recovery from that defeat, they still trail the Swiss with 3 points at top spot. This game will provide another opportunity for them to draw closer to the top spot for the automatic qualification.
Portugal last game was against Cyprus, where they record a 4-0 win. And it must be said that this win was without their best player in Christiano Ronaldo. For today’s game all their star players are available including Ronaldo. They’ve scored 6 goals past Andora and Faroe Island, 3 goals past Hungary and 4 past Latvia in their previous meeting. There is every possibility we could see another rout from Ronaldo and co tonight.
Latvia are on a five match losing streaks and they’ve conceded 16 goals in this period. They’ve lost against the likes of Faroe Island, Hungary and Georgia who are no where near the leave of Portugal. They really need to up their game tonight atleast to avoid been comprehensively beaten again.
