Torino will have a nice opportunity to finish the year on a high with a win against Spal tonight. After a poor start to the league campaign, Il Toro have been in great form lately, winning two and drawing one of the last three league outings. They still remain in the bottom half of the league but they are just three points shy of the 7th placed Parma and a win here could significantly improve the overall impression before the winter break. Last week they had to settle for a draw in a crazy six-goal thriller away at Hellas Verona(3-3). They also conceded three goals in the home loss at the hands of Inter Milan a month ago.
Spal were not pulling up any trees in the first part of the season. They sit at the foot of the Serie A standings with a devastating record of one draw and seven losses in eight away matches this term. The team led by Leonardo Semplici scored no more than two goals in these eight outings. On the bright side, these goals came in the last two matches on the road against the likes of Inter Milan and Roma which both ended in defeats anyway. The poor streaks of results continues and a trip to Turin will hardly give them a chance to turn things around.
