ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW
Midtjylland had a decent season last time but they ended up the second at the table with eleven points less than first placed FC Copenhagen. They capped off the brilliant season by winning the domestic cup. The new campaign is flag off today and they will hope to open their Superliga account with a win in front of the home crowd. They’ve been active in the title race for some time, but the second position was completely realistic for them this time, ending the season with fifteen points more than the third-placed Esbjerg.
Esbjerg were really impressive last campaign as they ended up at the third position, actually completely deserving it and showing their quality in the championship group as well, where they suffered only two losses in ten rounds against the very best teams in the country.
This is going to be quite a difficult opener for the host but i expect them to take advantage of playing in front of the home crowd and record a win. Also, this promises to be quite an open game, considering all but only one of the last six clashes between these two side as seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals.
