Maccabi Haifa got a chance to participate in European football thanks to finishing runners up in the Isreali league and they have a big chance of progressing beyond the first round as they come up with Slovenian side Mura. The host have been regulars at this stage of the competition for a while now. They are undefeated in their last six games in Europe with 3 wins and three draws and they only went out of last seasons Europa League qualifying when they lost on penalties to Nomme Kalju after both games ended 1-1.
Mura finished in the last qualifying spot(4th) in the Slovenian league and they travel to Isreal hoping to take some sort of advantage with at least a draw. Unlike their host, the visitors are new to this competition and will hope to leave a mark, but it must be said that they up against a better equipped side. They’ve played four friendly games as warm up games coming here which ended in two defeats and two wins.
Maccabi Haifa are the big favourite here, expect them to be on the front foot right from the first whistle. They play three upfront which always made them a dangerous side to play against. We are confident about their chances of scoring at least 2 goals against the Slovenians who have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 6 games in all competitions.
