Club Brugge have been struggling for consistency since the start of the new year. They made another setback previous weekend as they took just a point in a 2:2 draw away to Cercle Brugge. They were leading twice, but defensive weaknesses came out at the top again. They still maintain the second spot in the league but they have won just one of their last four league games.
Salzburg are surely the indisputable best team in Austrian Bundesliga and they were impeccable in group stage of the Uefa Europa League, winning the maximum 18 points from six matches against the likes of Celtic, RB Leipzig and Rosenborg. In the Bundesliga, they’ve won 15, drew 3, with zero defeat. As for the preparation period, they started early, winning over Slavia Prague and Beijing Guoan in most notable friendlies.
The Austrian side are the more quality side here as they play on completely another level. Club Brugge is far from a stable side, especially at the back where we’ve seen them concede at least once in all their last five games in all competitions.
