Lyon shocked Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium when both side met in the group’s opener and they will be looking to upset the odds once again this time in front of the home crowd. After the big win, Lyon have not tasted a win in the subsequents group games with all games ending in draws. They were on the verge of earning important three points in their last game against Hoffenheim but they allowed it slipped through their fingers as they blew 2 goals lead to earn another 2-2 draw.
Manchester City have fought back from that defeat to win every Champions League group match since. This has taken them back to their expected position at the top of Group F, and a victory in France today would secure the top spot for Guardiola’s men. The cititzens are looking unstoppable once again, they continued their league dominance on Saturday when they stormed past West Ham United 0-4 at London Stadium, their 8 winners in a row.
Lyon are in good form but they’ve been very leaky at the back as always. If their last three champions league performance is anything to go by, they are in for serious trouble against Pep’s team who just can’t stop scoring at the moment. Lyon have scored and conceded 7 goals in their last 3 group games while City have scored 11 and conceded just 1 against the same teams. Therefore backing the visitors to win and over 1.5 goals looks like a solid banker pick here.
