Weekend Matches across Europe

Here are fixtures across Europe as Liverpool look to attain more points while City take on Tottenham on Monday night football. Liverpool host Cardiff as Watford look to grab maximum points at home visitors Huddersfield. Wolverhampton also look to bounce back from that defeat last weekend as they take a trip to the Amex stadium. And in Spain we would be featuring Atletico Madrid’s match as they play host to Real Sociedad. Their last outing was a devastating loss to Borussia Dortmund in midweek lets see how they respond. Finally game from the Bundesliga where in form Borussia Dortmund look to stay at the top of the league.

English Premier League

Liverpool – Cardiff

Liverpool faithful’s might not be having as much fun as they were last season. However, the team seems to be doing just about enough to keep the crowd at Anfield happy. Despite a not so easy run they have managed to stay unbeaten this season, after 9 games. The reds have conceded just three goals in the premiership so far all of which have come on fixtures away from home. At home Liverpool haven’t conceded a goal at anfield since February and are yet to lose there since April 2017.

The visitors would be in high spirits coming into this game after clinching their first win against Fulham in a thrilling encounter. They had previously lost 5 games consecutively and despite that win last weekend it’s unlikely the attack has found a pattern. In their last adventure in the top tier, they won just 2 of 23 away matches. Recent stats show that they have scored in just one of their last four away fixtures. It’s unlikely they will fare any better.

The last meeting between these two was in 2013/2014 when Cardiff last were in the premier league and Liverpool were victorious on both encounters scoring 9 goals in the process.

PICK

HOME WIN

Watford-Huddersfield

After winning 4 matches at the start of the season, they lost to Manchester united and went on another 4 winless streak. They showed their attacking prowess as they took on wolves away from home in a match that saw they get back to winning ways. After pulling of a rather impressive win against wolves, we look to see if it was just a fluke. They would be looking to get more points with their next set of fixtures against lowly placed sides.

Huddersfield’s performance against Liverpool last weekend was quite impressive despite the fact that they lost by a single goal. They have now gone 9 games without a win and this game doesn’t provide much hope. Only avoiding defeat on three occasions so far, they find themselves in 19th position with the only other worse team being Newcastle. In away fixtures Huddersfield have failed to find the net in 13 games. They have also lost 13 times since being promoted to the top flight winning only 3 away games.
Even though their 4 nil defeat in the hands of Bournemouth is still fresh on their minds they would be looking to move into 6th position with a win here. Watford have so far won 7 of their last 12 home matches. Watford should come out victorious in this encounter.

PICK

Watford Win Draw No Bet

Brighton-Wolverhampton

Brighton’s performance has been very inconsistent this season , but they seem to be finally getting a grip. Alot of their supporters could once more begin to see light in their quest to remain in the EPL this season. It all started with that defeat to Watford but their first outing at home brought positive vibes as they defeated Manchester united 3-2. However things still did not turn up for them as they went on a 6 match spree without a win. Once again things seem to have picked up for them as they ended their winless run with a 1 nil win over West ham. With 3 points in the bag, they are now 6 points off the drop zone.

Wolves have been very much the side to look out for despite just gaining promotion from the championship. They are in no way affiliated with the bottom of the league but rather they are hanging in the balance. With a mid table finish in mind, they have employed the help of some quality players to help make it actualisable. 9matches played and they are still very much in the fight . Despite the defeat to Watford last weekend they still look like an excellent side. Their lack of attacking firepower did cost them that encounter.
The seagulls have conceded a total of 23 goals so far in 9 games. Meanwhile the visitors have seen a total of 17 goals so far with only 2matches having both teams scoring. This happened against the Manchester clubs with both games ending 1-1.

Both teams to score No

Spanish La Liga

Atletico Madrid – Real Sociedad

The host come into this game after Diego Simeone registered his heaviest defeat as manager of the side against Borussia Dortmund. Life in la liga has them in their normal routine of being the most defensive side but with that recent whitewashing some brows would be raised at Real sociedad. This encounter will surely not provide the same level of test as the home side have only conceded 1 goal at home in 5 matches. With the El clasico coming up, they could move into 1st position if they do get a win here.

Asier Garitano has had an inconsistent season so far with impressive wins against Athletic Bilbao and Villareal. However they are yet to win at home and would be taking positives from their the fact tgat they now look more conservative at the back.
Even though Atletico lost in midweek, the visitors haven’t been playing well enough to suggest that they could gat a point here.

German Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund-Hertha Berlin

Borussia Dortmund has assigned the help of former Monchengladbach boss Lucien Favre to help mould the squad into a title winning side. They now come into on the back if an 8match unbeaten run (6wins 2draws). Spearheading the attack would be Paco Alcacer who is on loan from Barcelona, he has 7 goals to his name already. The host have scored an impressive 19 goals in as much as 4 matches.

Hertha Berlin made the headlines as the became the first team to defeat Bayern under Niko Kovac. However consecutive draws against the likes of Mainz 05 and Frieburg has seen their heads drop to a certain low. They have 15points from 8 matches which represents their best run in the start of a Bundesliga season. Coming to this game though we dont see them with standing the home side.
