Astana will come into this game very high in confidence and Morale as they look to replicate their last season performance in the Europe. They qualified as the second best team in Europa League being a point behind Spanish side Villarreal and with two more than Slavia Prague and six more than Maccabi Tel Aviv. It was for sure more than satifying performance from them, as the side ended up the competition with a knockout stage against Sporting Lisbon suffering 4:6 aggregate score defeat. They are clearly the better team and they will want to take this advantage and win the first match and take a healthy lead to Sutjeska.
As for their league standings, Astana are in 1st position on 47 points and are six points clear. From 19 games they have lost just two and current form is good with 4 wins and a draw. At home they are unbeaten this season winning 8 of their 9 matches and drawing the other. so they will be coming into this game with a very high spirit.
Sutjeska play in Montenegro which is for sure one of the weakest leagues in Europe apart from really small UEFA nations as they really lack more quality sides especially since Buducnost which is most reputable and known Montenegrin club entered turbulend period. and that league hasn’t started yet and that is another reason that Astana has been installed as favourites.
FC Astana will start this game very quick and look to get a goal or two before half time. They will be on the front foot, not only do they have the better team but they are at home and they need to get a good result.
