Rio Ave who have picked up 7 points from their last 3 games now stands at sixth position in the Primere Liga. They will have a nice opportunity to have this run extended in the opening fixture of 2018 as they are to host the struggling Pacos de Ferreira side tonight.
Even though Cardoso does not have a real predator in the final third, it’s safe to say his team has been prolific in the final third recently. The team showed decent efficiency as of late mainly thanks to midfielder Joao Novais and striker Helder Guedes who have bagged four goals each so far in the season.
This duo should have plenty of room to cause damage in the final third as they are about to come face to face with the weakest defensive line in the league.
Pacos de Ferreira have leaked in as many as 29 goals in 15 matches (almost two per game) and they have been particularly vulnerable in most recent weeks.
Petit’s side lost four and drew one of last five matches in Primeira and they have allowed two or more goals in four of these matches during the process.
