Manchester City has a one-goal deficit from the first leg which could have turned differently as they had more of the ball possession but wasn’t as concrete as usually in a 1:0 loss. Their quest for a quadruple continue during the weekend, they overcame another hurdle dispatching Crystal Palcae by 3-1. They’ve now won their last nine games in the league. Etihad Stadium has been the setting of many a mauling this season, both domestically and on a continental scale. Spurs will have to be at their best to make use of their first leg advantage, and even that might not be enough against this Pep’s side.
Tottenham can be pretty satisfied with a narrow victory in the first round, especially since they didn’t concede the goal despite the possession of the Citizens. Spurs come from a 4:0 win over Huddersfield and have kept the third position for now. However, they are in danger of slipping down to the sixth position having just three points more than sixth Manchester United. The Spurs have the quality to make the things bit more difficult for the hosts here, however, the absence of striker Harry Kane will surely be felt.
Manchester City seen over 2.5 goals in their last 8 home matches against Tottenham. Also considering the fact that the Spurs have lost six of their last seven trip in the competition, it’s hard to see them holding the Citizen for long here.
