Sparta Rotterdam were expected to bag an easy win when they traveled to Jong Utrecht on Friday and they didn’t disappoint as they cruised to a comfortable 5-1 winner. They now come into this clash looking to make it four wins on the bounce and six in the last seven games. They sit comfortably at the second spot with a play-off guaranteed and they are eleven points adrift of first place Twente which look insurmountable. Nonetheless, they are playing with full confidence averaging over 2 goals per game and playing in front of the home crowd should give them extra confidence to record another three points.

Maastricht sit just outside of the last playoff zone, but are without a league win in five games. Last game was another draw at home against Volendam, their third draw in the last four games. Since they are just goals difference adrift of the playoff spot, a draw here could take them back to where they’ve been for the majority of the season. They’ve scored 41 goals and conceded 42 in return which in my view is not good enough stats to take to Rotterdam booming with confidence.
