UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE – Fixtures

FAROE ISLAND – AZERBIJAN

The Faroes are unbeaten in five games at home and would be looking to make it a sixth win. Consecutive wins against Malta and Liechtenstein at home makes them look untouchable. They only conceded defeats in the hands Switzerland and Portugal at home while trying to qualify. Against Latvia and Hungary, they showed how solid their defence could be and they should be able to repeat the feat here.
The visitors are on a very poor run of form and this is quite a worrying stat. they have just seven goals between four strikers across 65 appearances. It would be difficult finding the net here.

PICK

Home Draw and Under 3.5 Goals

ISRAEL – SCOTLAND

Israel’s performance has been nothing to be desired of late, ending their world cup qualifiers with defeats to Albania, Macedonia and Spain. Macedonia even came to their backyard and picked up 3 points. Liechtenstein and Andorra are the only teams since 2015 to have recorded losses on this ground.
Scotland should be oozing with confidence considering their host’s poor show of form. They were quite impressive against The Red Devils and carried the same attitude onto their match against Albania. Now they come up against an Israel team that has lost seven out of their last eight games but have also been unbeaten in five at home.

PICK

Scotland Draw No Bet

KOSOVO – MALTA

Malta hasn’t won in 2018 as of yet and has also undergone some humiliating defeats. With defeats to Luxembourg at home in a friendly encounter and consecutive dismantling by Finland in a 5-0 affair. They got a 1-1 draw against Armenia which seemed like a light in a dark tunnel. However, they still lost to Georgia in their next away match.
The host, however, is unbeaten in 2018, they defeated Madagascar, Burkina Faso and Albania all with clean sheets and scoring six goals in the process. Their result against Albania was the most impressive as they won 3-0 from away. Malta would not be an easy side to crack and so the goals wouldn’t be pouring in.

PICK

Kosovo to win

LITHUANIA – ROMANIA

Lithuania hasn’t found the net in any of their last four matches, while their visitors have scored seven times. The Romanians also have 10 wins from 11 matches when they have played Lithuania and all have been very tight affairs. The difference in goal margin has just been one in the last four wins. Romania should still get pas their host once again.
Meanwhile, Romania is yet to lose in any of their matches in 2018. They last got defeated in November against the Netherlands, this is their only loss in nine matches. With 12 goals in their last eight games, they surely are on a good run of form and should be able to trample on Lithuania.

PICK

Romania win

MONTENEGRO – SERBIA

The host has enjoyed an impressive start to the competition but they might be no match for Serbia. They have just one win in six games this year. They did show good spells as they dominated and won their last game against Lithuania in their last outing. This game would be quite tough for the home side but they would be counting on home support for motivation.
Serbia, on the other hand, has only failed to score in just two of their last 12 outings but facing a Montenegro side with four clean sheets in their last six. They haven’t been threatening in front of goal and have just four goals in those encounters. Montenegro has had 3 of their last six games finishing as goalless encounters, but with Serbia so good in front of goal, the story should be different.

PICK

Serbia win or draw and under 3.5 goals

RUSSIA – SWEDEN

The home side has settled had a good spell following their hosting of the world cup. Their nation’s league campaign got off to a much-desired start as they defeated turkey and the Czech Republic comfortably. After their surprisingly impressive run at the world cup, it’s hard to go against this Russian team in front of home supporters.
Sweden hasn’t really been able to maintain the pedigree they had at the world cup. After the 2-0 loss to England, they haven’t been in good spirits. They returned to action only to get another defeat at the hands of Austria who weren’t at the world cup

PICK

Home win or draw and over 1.5

POLAND – PORTUGAL

The host started their UEFA nation’s league campaign with a draw against Italy. They would be looking forward to cementing their place this month. The polish side has their talisman Robert Lewandowski with a host of others supporting him. Three of their last four meetings have seen both teams finding the back of the net. The two sides look defensively weak at the moment.
Portugal is also trying to secure a place at Euro 2020 where they hope to defend the title they won 4 years ago. After their poor performance at the world cup, it is pretty clear that the squad has a lot of work to do.

PICK

Away team clean sheet no.
