Match Preview – Wales vs Spain
On Tuesday next week wales resume their UEFA nations league campaign with a trip to Dublin to face the Republic of Ireland. But first, they take on the Spaniards on Thursday night as preparation for their UEFA nation’s league campaign. The Welsh would be looking for a win after being defeated in their previous outing.
Wales
Wales would be the first of two British sides to play Spain over a space of one week. With England travelling to Seville to face the 2010 world cup winners. The Welsh surely have a difficult task in front of them, and this is coming on the back of a 2 nil loss to Denmark. Having just three points from two games, their trip to Dublin would be very crucial to them surviving the league.
Wales will have a difficult time containing their opponents who have players playing in the top flight leagues. The home side has somehow been able to stay away from top opposition sides. They haven’t been tested by top oppositions since meeting France after the euro 2016. They were also a top-seeded side in their world cup qualifying group.
Spain
Spain, on the other hand, looks to be making a fairytale recovery from their poor performance at the world cup. They now have two wins from their opening two matches scoring eight goals in the process. Luis Enrique’s pattern seems to be taking effect with the team playing a very direct style of football with their passing mechanism still intact. The attack has a new burst of speed about it and they certainly look very deadly when they come forward.
The Spaniards sure look like a much-improved side following the introduction of Luis Enrique. They have now have two wins from two matches and have been scoring quite a number of goals. Scoring six against world cup runners-up Croatia, there seem to be a new found zeal about them as they make their way back to the top They have encounters with British opponents in October, let’s see how they fair.
