AZ Alkmaar and Vitesse crashed out of the Europa league on Thursday, both teams will now switch their focus on domestic competitions.
AZ have won their first two games of the season and they will be looking to continue the 100% record in the league when they host Vitesse later this afternoon. The hosts have been banging in goals this early season, they defeated Breda 5-0 and defeated Emmen 4-1 also.
Emmen tried their best last weekend but still got beaten 4-1 by AZ as they allowed 4 goals but replied once. It was AZ who scored first in the game and Emmen equalized 2 minutes later but AZ went on to score 3 more goals
AZ have now scored 9 goals in 2 games in this new season that some have predicted they will struggle.
Vitesse started well also but with a win and a draw. The visitors dominated their game last weekend against Heerenveen, which no one expected. They had 8 shots on target against Heerenveen’s and 15 shots off target but they couldn’t win the game. They are now sitting in the 3rd position and looks set to achieve a good height this season.
AZ’s recent games have seen over 2.5 goals same as Vitesse’s of the last 6, so hopefully the trends continues here.
