Crystal Palace opened their premier account with a 2-0 victory at Fulham last weekend. They will be looking to build on that with another good performance in front of the home crowd, they host one of the strong favourite for the league title Liverpool.
Roy Hodgson did a great job last season in turning Crystal Palace fortunes around and helping them achieve a respectable league position. They haven’t strengthened much in the summer so it’s unlikely they’ll be challenging the top teams this season.
Liverpool were one of the best attacking teams in the world last year and they have kept hold of the main instigators in Mane, Firminio and Salah. They main downfall though was their poor defensive display, as shown in the Champions League final. Jurgen Klopp has tried to improve this area by bringing in the Brazilian no.1 goalkeeper Alisson from Roma. Also with Virgil van Dijk starting his first full season in a Liverpool shirt, the Reds are suddenly real contenders for the Premier League title this season.
