BETTING AS A LONG-TERM INVESTMENT (KEY TIPS 2 )
In our previous post, we made mention of some key points to consider when looking at betting as a long-term investment.
In this article we would consider a few more before concluding the topic.
Alot of bettors find themselves betting on games without much study just because they are at an advantage.
Lets talk about that…
Discipline
Many a successful bettor who are at an advantage find themselves betting irrationally after acquiring some winnings. The logic often is “i am doing so well, so its not going to hurt to TRY some bets”. I used the keyword try there because these bets are made without considering strategy. Here’s a food for thought, do you think Bill Gates puts money into every investment opportunity just because he has made billions?
Sometimes it would not hurt to just watch others bet and take clues from them. Some bettors who were successful at one point or the other. But rather than betting on well studied games they started gambling based on instincts and emotions. It is normal to want to take a few risks when the tides seem to be in your favour but the key is to keep the stake as low as possible so as not to be at the losing end .
NOTE
Do not use a huge part of your winnings gotten from hard earned strategy to bet just because you are having a winning streak. There us a high chance you would regret make those bets in the nearest future.
Patience
In 2016 ponzi schemes hit the toplist of investments Nigerians were going into with MMM topping the list.
These ponzi outfits offered from 30%, 50% & as much as 100% earnings in the space of one month. We all know how it all ended.
Slowly i started to understand the mathematics involved. I got to realise that these companies were offering practically 1.30,1.50 to 2.0 odds for a space of one month.
Crazy right? Yes thats what we were waiting a whole month for.
I thought about it and relating it to betting, i am asking why cant we try to treat our betting like the ponzi schemes.
Summary
We are willing to send huge sums to people just because of a ponzi scheme but cant take such huge risks on our well forecasted predictions.
Heres where patience comes in , to be successful in betting.
We have to get rid of the get rich quick attitude and stick to strategies that produce results.
The daily banker tip is one of such examples of a long term investment earning strategy. It pays to be patient.
Conclusion
Its not an easy road to succeed as a sports bettor. Discipline, knowledge and patience would have ‘ considered alongside long term proven strategies.
And finally just because you win consistently through betting isnt a good reason for you to stop paying attention to other sources of income.
These points could also be used in other displines of life to help in money management.
