Leipzig will be coming into this stage of the Europe football as one of the huge favourites to not only advance but make it to the Europa League proper. The host ended last season knocking 6 goals past Hertha Berlin and they also bagged seven in a friendly win over FC Grimma last week. But it wasn’t their best season overall compared to the previous campaign when they finished second best in the Bundesliga.
The gap in quality between the teams is very big, with Leipzig playing in the Bundesliga and having two very strong seasons and playing amongst quality opposition every week.
Hacken’s options will be to defend and try to soak up the pressure but it will be very difficult as it certain they will be without the ball for long periods of the game.
If Hacken were at home they would at least have the sold out stadium to cheer them on, but they will have virtually no fans here and this match will have to be used as experience for the players. It would be a major shock to see any other result than a comprehensive home victory.
Knowing that the German club have the quality to knock 3 or more past the lowly Swedish counterpart, backing them to win by 2 or more goals looks like a banker pick here.
