Germany vs Mexico ; World Cup Match Review

The Germans has failed to find a win in their last five matches and managed to end a winless streak over a couple of friendlies with a win over Saudi Arabia, this result could affect the level of confidence the squad has.

For the defending champions, coming into the world cup after having played 5 matches without a win could find themselves demoralized after all, but the Germans are pretty cool headed even with pressure looming above their heads.

Just as the competition gets competitive so do these Germans scoring 43 goals in their race to qualify, accumulating 30points in the process with an array of stars they are still bound to put up a very decent display.

They have an excellent record when it comes to the world cup, the defending champions have a great manager in Joachim Low who as a result of being in charge for 12years earned them the third place, confederations cup and the world cup.

Mexico look certainly as the runners up of this group. Unlike the Germans, they can’t boast of a squad filled with big named players but do have experience and youth going for them. With Carlos Vela, Javier Hernandez, Andres Guardado running the show upfront, this game is bound to be exciting.

Having won four of their last seven games prior to this competition and loosing just once during the qualifiers over a five year stretch, the Central Americans would be hoping to find the back of the net considering that they have scored 16 times in their last 18 competitive games.

The Germans haven’t allowed any opponent keep a clean sheet in their last 15 competitive fixtures, with France being the last team to defeat them in Euro 2016. Nevertheless they also haven’t been able to keep a clean-sheet in 12 of their last 15matches. All indications seem to point it out that this match would be no different.

Finally Mexico look ready to put up a good fight but the Germans should have enough in their arsenal to see them get past the Americans.

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller would have the cameras all over him, the German attacker has a habit of scoring at the world cup. With ten goals to his name and five goals coming in each of the two previous world cup outings, he is the third player in the history of the world cup to do such. He is a big player and as such will most likely deliver the goods when called upon.

Pick;

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.80 would not be far fetched as the game looks like one to provide even more goals.

Germany predicted lineup: Neuer, Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Hector, Kroos, Khedira, Muller, Ozil, Reus, Werner

Mexico Predicted Lineup: Ochoa, Salcedo, Ayala, Moreno, Gallardo, Herrera, Layun, Lozano, Dos Santos.

It is also fair to say the Germans are favorites of group F.

HEAD TO HEAD

The two teams have met five times with Germany winning three and drawing one. The last fixture between these two was at the confederations cup where Germany were 4-1 victors.
