ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW

Dundalk will be looking to continue their winning streaks when they come up with 4th place Shamrock Rovers today.

They’ve won five games on the trot now scoring twelve goals before they last conceded which came in a crushing 3-0 defeat to league leaders Cork City. The league title fight is well and truly over and a win for Dundalk should mean they will finish in second.

Shamrock have been much better in recent weeks, winning five, drawing three and losing one. Their away form hasn’t been too shabby either. They have lost three and won three of their last six on the road. Two of those defeats came to Cork and Derry respectively however who along with Dundalk are the best home sides in the division.

In their head to heads this fixture usually ends up in a draw or Dundalk win with Dundalk winning four times and five draws. The one win Shamrock have in the past ten meetings was their last encounter in a 2-1 win.

CONCLUSION

Dundalk are in the best form so far in the league having won their last 5 matches and with home ground advantage, I don’t  expect them to have much problem defeating the Rovers here.
