World Cup Betting – Our Thought On Who Wins The Golden Boot

It is always exciting when the world cup kicks off.

One of the most lucrative markets to place bets on would be the top goal scorer of the tournament. As Russia 2018 approaches with every passing minute we can’t help but take a glimpse at the players who fall into this category. It is also important to note that the odds on any of these attackers will also significantly drop or increase right from the kickoff of the first game. That is to say once the scoring begins!

The top scorer 2018 is one of the individual awards Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would have to battle it out. With reference to the odds stated above Messi is seen as the favorite as this would most likely be his last world cup and with the national team he has won much honors. Ronaldo on the other hand, did win the Euro 2016 with Portugal. It’s all a question of who wants it more.

With Russia 2018 we could also see the end of the reign of the two world champions as other goal machines in the persons of Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane plan to take over the stage.

Hers a little in sight on the favorites to win this category

Lionel Messi

With four golden boot to his name, the Argentine star man would be looking to add this to his cabinet. The Barcelona legend who scored essential goals to help win the league double again, he now boasts of 32 major honors to an illustrious carrier. This success has however not been reflected in the national team as he is yet to lift a silverware in the Argentine national team shirt. He has however scored 64 international goals and is the leading Argentine goal scorer of all time.

With Russia 2018 just two days away the 31 year old would be looking to add a new chapter to his fairytale carrier.

Cristiano Ronaldo

In the last three world cups Ronaldo has only managed to score just a goal and these goals have come against weaker oppositions which include Iran, North Korea and Ghana. The Portuguese star man who scored 42 goals in 41 games for Real Madrid this season would be hoping to change his fortunes at this year’s tournament as he takes on Spain in their first Group B game. With the help of creative mid fielders like Joao Moutinho, Ronaldo would fancy his chances of taking the BOOT home.

Neymar Jnr

Scoring 28goals in 30 appearances for French champions Paris Saint Germain this season even as they crashed out of the UEFAchampion’s league in the round of 16 to eventual winners Real Madrid. The Brazilian star man who was later ruled out for a couple of months also did score four goals in the last world cup even as his team finished third. It won’t be farfetched to say Neymar would be one of the blazing goals at this tournament as he has shown good potential in the game’s leading to the world cup.

He is already a Brazil all time goal scorer and despite being just 26 is already 4th on the list with Pele, Ronaldo and Romario ahead of him.

Will Neymar show the world that he is worth the hype?

I think he would

Antoine Griezmann

With his cool finishing and pace, the French man could be looking to make the world cup his stage, with team mates like Mbappe, Giroud and Dembele he would have to be very clinical to attain this accolade.

The Atletico Madrid man already has 19 goals to his name for the France national team and having won the Golden boot award at euro 2016, it won’t be a surprise if he tries to pull it off again here in RUSSIA

There are many more in this category but like they say many are called but few are chosen… in this case ONLY ONE would be chosen.

Good luck as you make your pick
