Sarpsborg vs Start

Pick: Sarpsborg win

Odd: 1.54

Sarpsborg’s welcome the league’s newcomers Start to Sarpsborg stadium as the big favourite to clinch the three points. The host has seen some stumbling block but a home tie against the struggling start might just be what they needed right now.

Sarpsborg entered the new season with the sky-high ambitions following the third-place finish in the last term, but they had huge issues keeping things tight at the back in the opening weeks. The team was winless in five straight games before earning the huge second-half comeback on Sunday afternoon away at Marienlyst Stadion in Drammen. Ole-Jorgen Halvorsen and Ronnie Schwartz bagged goals within just five minutes to earn their team a huge confidence-boosting victory ahead of the tenth round tie with the struggling Start side.

Start made a dream start to the campaign in the higher division beating Tromso 4-1 at home in the curtain-raiser back in March. Nonetheless, they took just one point in the remaining eight games of the season which is only good enough for the rock-bottom of the league standing ahead of the Matchday No 10 clash with Sarpsborg.

The visitors scored just twice in last seven league games and they own the league’s worst defensive record with 20 goals conceded in nine matches so far. Given they’ll be up against the opposition who earned confidence by beating Stromsgodset away from home on Sunday, it’s hard to see other results than a comprehensive victory for the host.
