Lokeren vs Beerschot
Pick: Lokeren win
ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW
Lokeren has improved so much since last season when they managed to escape relegation, they are now the biggest favorite to take the ticket for additional Europa League play-off rounds. With just two rounds till the end in their qualifying group, the side has three points more than second placed Antwerp and needs a victory here.
They did really well in this group having five victories, two draws and only one defeat in first eight rounds. In the most recent game, they come from a very important three pointer last Wednesday evening as the team outplayed Oostende away from home and celebrated a 3-1 victory.
Beerschot meanwhile failed to react better at the start of additional group. They’ve collected only four points in first six rounds and stood without competitive motive already weeks ago. They are now on a run of two defeats which is more than expected since the team doesn’t have much to play for.
Most recently, they suffered 3:2 defeat away from home against St Truiden on Wednesday afternoon, even though the team gave a good fight to their opponents. They looked like a more relaxed side on the field and didn’t need much to score in comparison to their superior hosts who have created much more overall.
Beerschot is now long time ago without much of competitive motive as they stand at last sixth position with already thirteen points less than Lokeren. They are four points behind fourth and fifth placed Oostende and Eupen, but nobody in the club actually cares about that rankings.
Quality, form, Momentum and competitive motive is completely with the home team. Therefore, backing the host to record another victory looks like a solid banker pick here.
