England Premier League

Watford vs Chelsea

Pick: Chelsea to win

Odd: 1.60

After Chelsea woeful display last time against Bournemouth game they lost 0-3, they surely can’t afford any slip tonight.

They made a swap in the final third replacing reserve striker Michy Batshuayi with Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman could make his debut tonight as the team’s first option up front, Alvaro Morata, is sidelined due to injury and won’t travel to Vicarage Road.

Chelsea’s form has overall seen a massive slide of late, particularly on travels where the Blues have won only two of last eight matches in all competitions. The loss to the Cherries has dropped the team down to fourth place.

Watford sit in the middle of the table, but they are not too far away from the danger zone. They haven’t booked a win in the last six games and that run brought them into potential trouble. They’ve scoring regularly, but their defensive performances declined a lot recently. They have conceded 44 goals so far.

The hornets are the worst home side in the league since they have booked only three wins in front of their fans, while their opponents managed to score 25 times against them. They urgently need to break this bad run in order not to get into relegation troubles.

The blues have been entirely dominant in the most recent history of head to head ties against Watford. The last time was an interesting 4-2 win at Stamford bridge.

  • Watford have failed to win any of their last 3 matches, losing twice
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 10 games against Watford, winnings 8

Chelsea are strong favourites in this one and they should be able to deliver a win in order to continue their battle for the Champions League spot.
