UEFA Champions League Previews And Prediction For Tuesday November 21, 2017

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEWS AND PREDICTION

Hello everyone, Champions league football returns tomorrow and here is out thoughts on some of the Tuesdays matches. Its really been a good year for the English teams in the Uefa Champions League and tomorrow already qualified Manchester city will be entertaining Dutch Feenoord, Tottenham travel to Germany to take on Dortmund. Napoli in desperate need of a win entertains Shaktar Donetsk while Monaco will battle Leipzig at home.

NAPOLI VS SHAKHTAR DONETSK

Napoli will be firing on all cylinders from the first whistle tomorrow since only a win can see them still holding any hope making it to the knock out stage. Their 2-4 loss to Manchester City in the previous round set them 9 points adrift of the Premier League side and 6 behind their Tuesday’s visitors Shakhtar Donetsk. Now, the Serie A club need to win their remaining two fixtures and Shakhtar must not take a point from their remaining two.

Napoli started their group stage campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Ukraine before getting back to winning ways against Feyenoord. They lost both home and away leg against Manchester City. The Italians travel to Rotterdam for their final group fixture on 6th December.

Donetsk’s lone defeat in the competition came in their trip to Manchester on matchday 2.

Napoli have a slight advantage here as they have got the pair of fixture against Man City out of their way, while Shakhtar’s final game is against the Premier League side. Therefore, the Ukrainians will be looking to avoid a defeat here. But Napoli’s home form in all competitions suggest that they will be quite confident to get the positive result here. Therefore, home win and over 1.5 goals seems to be the best pick here

PREDICTION: NAPOLI WIN AND OVER 1.5 GOALS

MANCHESTER CITY VS FEYENOORD

City extended their winning run to 16 matches in all competitions with the 2-0 win at Leicester City on the weekend. The team is on some serious scoring form and netted 10 times in their last four. If you just compare the two major tournaments, the Premier League and Champions League, City scored 52 goals in total from 16 games, which is an average of 3.25 goals per game. The defense has massive improved as they let in just 10 goals in the process.

Feyenoord lost all their four matches in the competition and they are out of the knockout qualification race. Yet, they can make it into the Europa League with wins in the remaining two, though that look very unlikely.

The defending Dutch champions are in shaky form at the moment and are win-less in their last four in all competitions. Besides, they won just 1 of their last 8, however that win came against an armature club AVV Swift in the domestic cup competition. With an average of 3.25 goals per game this season, Its safe to think that the citizens will score at least 3 goals here.

PREDICTION: MANCHESTER CITY OVER 2.5 TEAM GOALS

B. DORTMOND VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS

Tottenham despite finding themselves in a difficult group have been able to Surprise everyone in this years Champions League. Obviously, their 1-1 draw the Bernabeu was impressive, but even more impressive was their 3-1 win at Wembley. It wasn’t a snatch and grab, but a fully deserved victory over the reigning European champions.

They also beat Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley in round one, and they now know that a win on Tuesday would guarantee them the top spot. This comes at a fine time as well, because their 2-0 loss in the North London derby on Saturday will have severely dented their pride.

Away from home Spurs have won five of their eight competitive games this season, only losing to Manchester United and Arsenal. Now they come up against a Borussia Dortmund side who have lost three of their last four competitive home matches, conceding ten goals in the process.

Because of Borussia Dortmund’s lethal attack but almost non existent defence it’s likely to be a high scoring affair. All but two of their competitive home games this season has seen at least three goals, so im going for what seems to be the safest pick of Tottenham not to lose and over 1.5 goals

PREDICTION: TOTTENHAM/DRAW AND OVER 1.5 GOALS

MONACO VS LEIPZIG

Monaco has looked shadows of what they used to be in the last season. This shouldnt be considered a surprise after most of their stars from last season have been priced away. They did pick up some wins in the French league, but if you look closely, they had struggled against teams that pose decent balance in attack an defense.

Last season Bundesliga surprise package Leipzig come into this game with some decent results. Though didn’t have the best of the outings in away matches this term. However, they must be considered as a dangerous team with the likes of Timo Werner being a constant menace to opposition defenses.

We are expecting a closed match here, but the bet which mostly stand out for me is both team finding the back of the net.

PREDICTION: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE(GG)
