International World Cup Qualifiers, Europe

Isreal vs Spain

Pick: Spain win and over 1.5 goals

Odd: 1.50

ANALYSIS AND MATCH PREVIEW

Spain booked a direct ticket to Russia on Friday when they eased past Albania netting three goals within opening 30 minutes of the game at Estadio Jose Rico Perez in Alicante. Julen Lopetegui’s men now come into the last round fixtures being five points clear at the top of the Group G standings.

However, even though the last match of the campaign does not have any significance whatsoever for the visitors, they head into the game as massive favourites mainly because of Israel’s poor run in the last couple of months.

They struggled a lot with the efficiency in the final third failing to score a single goal in three consecutive matches with Albania, FYR Macedonia and Italy. They did lose all hopes of shocking the top two teams in the Group early on, but Levy’s side clearly wanted to fix the poor impression and boost up the attacking confidence with a comprehensive victory over Liechtenstein on Friday evening.

Instead of such a scenario, Levy could only witness a narrow 0-1 win for his side (Eitan Tibi’s goal midway through the first half against an outfit which previously allowed 34 goals in eight fixtures.

Spain will thus have a nice opportunity to end the campaign in a victorious fashion and to make it nine wins and a draw in ten matches. Spain took three straight wins without conceding a single goal coming into the last fixture with Israel.

The clash played in March this year at Estadio Municipal El Molinon in Gijon saw a commanding 4-1 win for the Spaniards with goals from David Silva, Vitolo, Diego Costa and Isco. Similar result is on the card tonight, therefore backing Spain to win and over 1.5 goals seems to be a safe pick.
